Essendon Fields welcomes Volvo Cars Essendon

Volvo Cars Essendon has a new home at Essendon Fields, with a new impressive sales and service dealership opening at 405 Wirraway Rd, continuing the ongoing successful expansion of EF Auto.

Eagers Automotive, which already operates a number of dealerships within EF Auto, has opened the 865 sqm Volvo showroom, complete with café and lounge, to further showcase the growing Volvo brand in Melbourne.

The facility has been built within an existing Eagers Automotive Jaguar Land Rover dealership, taking up half of the 3,638sqm total space. Splitting the two dealerships was well resolved architecturally, with ERA Architects and Mantec Projects facilitating.

Jeremy Benford, Dealer Principal for Volvo Cars Essendon, said the decision to move to Essendon Fields was an easy one.

“Volvo is the fastest growing luxury brand in Australia, sitting only behind Mercedes and BMW, and it is a brand locals have shown a huge interest in exploring further. The nearest Volvo dealership is in the CBD, so it was the logical choice to open up at Essendon Fields,’’ he said.

“EF Auto has been established for over a decade now, so it’s becoming the destination of the ‘one stop shop’ for car buyers to go to with ease of access off the Tullamarine Freeway. Essendon Fields is just so convenient with easy on-site as well as off-street parking,’’ Mr Benford said.

“The new dealership will operate both sales and service departments, along with the used or what we call “selekt” Volvo certified vehicle as well. We have a brand new café and lounge area for customers to enjoy whilst waiting for their new car to be service or just have a friendly casual chat with one of our consultants.’’

“Whether you’re looking for an SUV, wagon or sedan, experience the elegant Scandinavian design that comes with every Volvo car at Volvo Cars Essendon,’’ he said.

Essendon Fields CEO Brendan Pihan said he was delighted to welcome Volvo Cars Essendon at such an exciting period of growth for EF Auto.

“We’ve recently clocked $750 million in annual vehicles sales within the precinct, and this is a clear indication of the public’s love of choice, convenience and competition all in the one location. Volvo will benefit from our expansive catchment of over 1 million people within a 15 minute drive, and is an exciting addition to Melbourne’s leading auto precinct’’ Mr Pihan said.
