That’s a wrap for 2018 from Essendon Fields

A major development announcement, an award for landscaping, two major building refurbishments, a new Freeway exit, more flights and road upgrades are just a few of the highlights from the past twelve months.

This was a huge year for Essendon Fields made possible by the support and passion for EF shared by all Essendon Fields business. EF tenants are like-minded, driven and successful which is what makes this site so unique.

The best address for business

  • Andrew Fox proudly presented Supergardens the Landscaping Victoria award for ‘The Best Maintained Commercial Landscaping’ (no surprise there) in Victoria at our stakeholder evening. Andrew spoke of his vision to create a landscaped work environment at least as good as any backyard on our way to achieving our 10,000 trees. Max Beck confided in the attendees that “we don’t build sh*#*t”!
  • We launched Arc this year! – Our biggest A-Grade office development. Arc will be built on Larkin Boulevard opposite the Event Centre’s car park.
  • The Terminal refurb is well advanced including unique new office suites alongside the passenger check in lounge! For all current leasing opportunities across EF, please click here.
  • Improvements were made to English Street with an additional exit lane and installation of traffic lights to improve flow.
  • The pain of years of freeway road works is almost over and we’ll see the gain of better access. The trip time to the CBD has never been better, even at 80kmh.

Automotive

  • Midyear we welcomed Jaguar Land Rover, BMW and Mini. The BMW display on the freeway has received lots of positive attention.
  • Foodies and coffee lovers flocked to The Hungry Fox Café as soon as they opened their doors in March. The Hungry Fox made many Melbourne “best-of” lists.
  • Holden/HSV commenced in October as the relocation of car dealers from Keilor Rd into Australia’s largest dealership site is almost complete.

Aviation

  • Australia’s home of corporate jets welcomed Mick Doohan’s Platinum Aviation. An increase in the weight limits will enable the latest Global 7500 & Gulfstream G650 to operate here.
  • Fly Corporate Airline is now flying scheduled services to Wollongong and Dubbo as well as Orange. Sharp Airlines is busier than ever with more services to King Island, Flinders Island and Portland Warrnambool.

The year ahead

Construction for Suncorp is underway – the first business to call our new hi-tech industrial Hart precinct home. We’ll also be unveiling new branding for our upgraded shopping plaza and introducing new food offerings.

The 2019 Master Plan will confirm exciting plans for aviation over the next 20 years when consultation commences midyear.

On behalf of the team at Essendon Fields HQ, we would like to wish you and your families a safe and happy New Year.
