English Street Green
Opposite 40 English Street, Essendon Fields, VIC, 3041

Long before the arrival of settlers, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people relied on areas surrounding Essendon Fields for fishing, housing, transport and food.

Essendon Fields respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of its land: the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, their spirits, ancestors, elders and community members past and present.

In 2004, former AFL legend Michael Long decided that something needed to be done about the plight of the Indigenous community, so he walked from his home in Melbourne all the way to Parliament House in Canberra. The Long Walk was born, with money raised to support Indigenous education programs across the country.

Twenty years on, and in celebration of NAIDOC Week, Essendon Fields invites you to save the date for their annual Little Long Walk on Thursday 11 July. Grab your family, friends or team together and join us for a walk around the precinct, followed by cultural presentations and a Charity BBQ hosted by LaManna Melbourne.

Tickets on sale May 2024.
