Essendon Fields has signed a new three-year junior sponsorship agreement with the Airport West Eagles football club as part of its commitment to supporting and working with the local community.

Essendon Fields supports a range of local community organisations and recognises the important role that local sport plays, especially by encouraging junior participation in regular physical activity and instilling the value of teamwork.

Airport West Football Club has been a feature of the Essendon District Football League for almost 60 years and promotes participation across both genders and all ages – with teams in both junior boys and mixed competitions as well as senior men’s and women’s teams.

Essendon Fields CEO Brendan Pihan said Essendon Fields was proud to continue to support organisations that encourage diversity, inclusion and accessibility to maximise social benefit.

“We support a range of causes through fundraising and charitable partnerships, and create spaces for our community to come together and enjoy. Our ongoing Airport West football club junior sponsorship adds to the value we pride ourselves on providing in our local area,’’ he said.

Airport West Football Club President, Pauline McShanag, welcomed the ongoing partnership with Essendon Fields, noting “Our club stands by the values of One Community, One Club, One Family. As neighbours of Essendon Airport for 60 years, we value the relationships we have built with the Essendon Fields team, and the opportunities their ongoing support will provide for our kids.”
