JAC Motors joins Essendon Fields Auto

Autoleague, one of Australia’s largest consortiums of automotive dealerships, is adding a new brand to their suite at Essendon Fields Auto, to be located next to their existing Volkswagen dealership at 335 Wirraway Road. The addition of Essendon JAC Motors, will add to the national dealership reach of JAC Motors and will bring the total number of dealerships on site at Essendon Fields up to 22, enhancing its status as the largest single site car precinct in Australia.

JAC Motors hit the Australian market in 2023, satisfying our growing appetite for affordable and high quality commercial and electric vehicles. The new dealership is part of an Australia-wide roll out, with Essendon Fields a strategic choice for auto brands seeking to make an impact in the Melbourne market, as JAC intends to do with its highly anticipated T9 dual cab ute.

Augusto Favrin, Dealer Principal at Essendon JAC Motors, said that Autoleague was delighted to bring the JAC Motors brand to Victoria and that Essendon Fields Auto was the obvious initial location.

“We’re really excited about the future line-up of vehicles, especially electric vehicles, which the JAC Motors group will be bringing to Australia over the next few years. We thought it would create a great opportunity to meet customer demand in the ever-growing electric vehicle market in Melbourne,’’ he said

The new Essendon Fields Auto dealership will be an authorised sales, service and parts retailer for JAC Motors.

“The benefits of being within Essendon Fields Auto is that it creates a one stop shop for our customers. They can park their car and literally test drive multiple brands in the same location and not have to leave the precinct before making an informed decision,’’ said Mr Favrin.

“Essendon Fields is easily accessible via both the Tullamarine freeway and Western Ring Road. Alternatively, both tram and bus stops are in the close proximity.’’

Autoleague currently operates six brands on Wirraway Road, employing more than 300 people, and is always looking for further opportunities.

“With Essendon Mazda, Essendon MG, Essendon Isuzu, Airport Toyota and Essendon Volkswagen already under their belt, it was only a matter of time before we saw them grow again. We welcome Autoleague’s plans to bring a new brand into EF Auto,’’ said Sian Gunson, Essendon Fields’ Senior Property Manager.

Essendon Fields CEO Brendan Pihan said the ongoing popularity of Essendon Fields Auto is best measured by the demand for new dealerships at Essendon Fields.

“The auto mall concept at EF Auto is a success story.  We know the format works because car buyers are assured of choice, availability and competitive prices.  Nearly 4.5m people can reach EF Auto within 45minutes, which is about the amount of time buyers are prepared to travel in order to inspect a car in stock.  Parking is easy, and the restaurant Basq Essendon Fields which is in the heart of the mall offers fantastic coffee and lunch options,” said Mr Pihan.

“And the precinct is growing.  The addition of JAC will soon be followed by other brands, with new dealerships under construction!’’

Essendon JAC Motors will be opening in July 2024 at 335 Wirraway Road. For more information click here.
