Wirraway Road Landscaping Works

UPDATE: 2 AUG 2024, 9.30am - OVERVIEW & ACCESS INFORMATION

To maintain the high level of presentation of the Essendon Fields precinct, our facilities team and landscape partners Green by Nature are undertaking landscaping works along Wirraway Road.

The project involves adopting new plant species to replace underperforming plants, which will showcase a variety of colour and be better suited to the onsite conditions.

Plant species will include crepe myrtles, moon bays, cosmic whites and mondo grasses, with sand, rock and stone also being replaced to improve drainage, increase water efficiency and suppress weed growth.

To ensure the safety of contractors and road users during the works, traffic management will be in place for the duration of the project, with some brief road closures and detours required at various stages. These temporary changes will be clearly indicated via onsite signage, and we thank you for your patience whilst these safety measures are in place.

We look forward to showcasing our new landscaping, as we continue to ensure an attractive and sustainable environment for customers and visitors to Essendon Fields.
