SPC joins Essendon Fields

There are few business brands more iconic in Victoria than SPC. They’ve been putting food on our tables since 1918 and now the Goulburn Valley based supplier of fruit and vegetables to Australia and the world proudly has its headquarters based at Essendon Fields.

Essendon Fields welcomes SPC into a major 636 square meter office space located at Suite 4, Level 1, 3 Bristol Street. The move by SPC to establish a major office presence at Essendon Fields offers another happy coincidence – both organisations are centenarians. SPC celebrated its 100th birthday in 2018 and this year Essendon Airport has proudly reached the same milestone.

“SPC is growing and we have very ambitious plans to become a global food manufacturer and distributer operating from Australia. Our move to Essendon Fields is for convenience primarily, but the office also provides great opportunities to accommodate our growth ambitions.’’ said Robert Tanti GM People and Culture at SPC.

“SPC staff travel from the office up to our production facility in Shepparton and we also host many interstate visitors, so the proximity of Essendon Fields to Melbourne Airport as well as great accommodation at Hyatt Place, made Essendon Fields an ideal choice,’’ he said.

“Our new office is well placed, with great access to major roads and transport. The amenities and shopping facilities at Essendon Fields also provide great opportunities for our staff to take care of their household needs during and after work, leaving their weekends free’’ Mr Tanti said.

SPC will have 51 people based at its 3 Bristol Street out of the 700 staff it employs nationally.

“SPC is an iconic Australian brand, so it’s fitting they’ve made their new home in the Beaufort Building, which played an important role in aircraft production during World War II, and is a proud part of our 100 year history. We welcome their team to Essendon Fields and hope they enjoy everything our other 6000 employees and 200+ on site business love about the precinct,” said Essendon Fields CEO, Brendan Pihan.

“Our people are delighted with our new premises. We hope to partner with Essendon Fields and build a quality relationship so that our business and staff can bring the best of themselves to their workplace every day,’’ Mr Tanti said.
