RFDS Going The Distance Gala Dinner

Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Victoria as they celebrate their annual Going the Distance Gala Dinner on Thursday 30 May.

This year’s theme explores Victoria’s role as a pioneer of Aviation and celebrates 1934 – an iconic year for the RFDS.

In the middle of The Great Depression, the eyes of the world shifted to Melbourne as the destination for a groundbreaking air race. In that same year, in a back room of the Commercial Travellers’ Association on Flinders Street, John Flynn and his dedicated team worked tirelessly to draft a constitution for a new organisation that would ultimately be known as the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Hosted by television presenter Michael Rowland and featuring the historical accounts of the era from Australian entertainer and comedian Titus O’Reily, this is not a night to be missed!
