Dental Associates celebrates 30 years in the Fields
Dental Associates, one of the longest running tenants at Essendon Fields, this year celebrates 30 years in the Fields.
When dentist and owner Dr. Frank Davis, first signed his lease in 1993 he notes there were no shops, just one café in the terminal and he moved into the first new building in the precinct in years.
“When I signed our first lease at Essendon Fields, my daughter Georgia was six months old and playing in my briefcase and the precinct was still called Essendon Airport,” Frank explains.
“We moved in late 1993, coming from a previous site in Airport West that we’d held for seven years into a lower suite. It wasn’t a big move, but it was a fantastic decision. We came as two dentists, two hygienists and four nurses. Now we’re a team of seven dentists, seven hygienists, and thirteen nurses,” he said.
Occupying a prominent position in Melbourne’s North-West, Essendon Fields is connected via three major arterials, and accessible to a catchment of over 1 million people within a 15 minute drive. As well as a dentist, a diverse range of independent allied health practitioners and medical specialists call Essendon Fields home, such as a medical centre, plastic surgeon, skin specialist, pharmacy and fitness centre.
“It has clearly been a great move because it’s allowed us room to expand. We now lease the entire ground floor of our original building, 20 English Street, and have recently signed a new lease for 15 years, so we hope to be a feature of Essendon Fields for many years to come,” he said.
“Our partnership with Essendon Fields is more than just a tenancy agreement. The staff and patients love the environment at Essendon Fields, and there wouldn’t be a day that goes by without someone commenting on the beautiful landscaping in the precinct, which I feel is a great credit to the management team. The other comment we often hear is the appreciation for the ample parking available. That’s very important for a business like ours with many daily comings and goings. On a typical day we see between 50 and 70 visitors,’’ Frank said.
Essendon Fields GM Property, Joel Rauer, said it was fantastic to see Dental Associates signing on to extend their lease.
“We’re committed to creating a great place at Essendon Fields, and it’s tenants like Frank Davis and his team at Dental Associates that contribute to doing just that. He knows the people that live and work around Essendon Fields so well. In fact he’s probably now looking after the next generation of patients to those he first treated when he arrived in 1993, and truly embedded within their families,” said Mr Rauer.
In celebration of this fantastic milestone, Essendon Fields earlier in the week dedicated one of its 15,000 tree project to Dr. Frank Davis and his team. You can view the plaque and tree out the front of the practice at 20 English Street.
“This is a long-term commitment by both parties and we’re proud to continue to partner with Dental Associates,” finished Mr Rauer.
