Rising from under the Moorabbin Aviation Services (MAS) umbrella, comes Australia’s newest private charter airline – RiseJet.

Securing the existing MAS 118 sqm tenancy at Suite 3, 230 Wirraway Rd, RiseJet also expand into Suite 3 on the ground floor within the revamped Airport terminal building.

RiseJet’s Chief Executive Officer Darron Hurley says the company is excited about launching its operations at Essendon Fields.

“The name RiseJet is uplifting and aspirational, and is indicative of our goal to provide the best service in Australia. We currently have a fleet of two King Airs and two Citations based at Essendon Fields, and this combination of aircraft will give us the flexibility to fly guests to major hubs as well as smaller regional locations.  We also provide aircraft management services and offer FBO/ground handling,’’ Mr Hurley said.

“We see strategic value in having a presence at the Terminal for some of the operations we have planned. Our location at Essendon will be our Melbourne base. We have converted a facility to a VIP lounge for our guests, and we also have office space for management staff and flight planning for our aircrews,’’ Mr Hurley said.

RiseJet have five full-time staff based in Melbourne as well as four additional casual staff.

“We’re very proud to operate from Essendon Fields, and feel that from a general aviation perspective this airport is easily comparable to many of the more renowned private aviation airports in North America and Europe. The amenities are fantastic and the grounds provide a really nice environment for our guests and staff.”

What does a future look like for RiseJet at Essendon Fields?

“We’re unashamedly ambitious to expand our fleet and service offerings. This will mean a need for more aircraft, more hangarage and more office space. Given its proximity to the city and transportation options, Essendon Fields is the premium airport for private aviation in Melbourne and we hope to call it for home for many years to come.’’
