Leading global logistics provider Scan Global Logistics (SGL) have just joined Essendon Fields as the company prepares to ramp up operations in Melbourne and Australia.

SGL have moved into a combined tenancy in Suite 3 & 4 on level 1 of the Essendon Fields Airport terminal, with the new office to be home for seven locally based staff. Operations over the next 12-18 months predict that the team will grow, and the new office is ready to accommodate.

Mr Søren Madsen, Scan Global Logistics CEO for Pacific Region, was excited when he first saw the new office space.

“We are excited to become part of the beautiful and continuously developing Essendon Fields, which is a perfect match for Scan Global Logistics, as we continue investing and developing our ambitions to uncomplicate the world of our customers with experience and quality,” he said.

Drazen Basar, General Manager of Regional Development for Scan Global Logistics notes that the location of Essendon Fields was a primary decision driver, as most of the SGL staff live in the north-west, along with easy public transport and road access for customers.

“The precincts pocket parks, walking trails and green spaces also really resonated with us. Our company looked at the Essendon Fields Environmental Strategy when considering our options, and it really aligned with our own corporate goals,” said Mr Basar.

“We are a global logistics provider and we service customers in that space. We want a relationship with Essendon Fields and the other tenants within this community, and really enjoyed meeting everyone at the recent Meet The Neighbours event,” said Mr Basar.

“Melbourne is an important strategic milestone for us and what better place to work from than the Iconic Essendon Airport! Essendon Fields is the place for us. SGL Australia will grow from here,” finished Mr Madsen.
